The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team has confirmed the driver line-up for the 2010 Formula One season, after signing the reigning 2009 world champion, Jenson Button, to a multiyear deal. The 2008 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, in his fourth consecutive season as a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver, will partner with Button.

This unique partnership marks the first time in Formula One history that a team will start a new season with a line-up featuring the most recent, two successive world champions. The all-British roster is the first pairing of two world champions since Graham Hill (1962, 1968) partnered with Jim Clark (1963, 1965) at Lotus in 1968.

Martin Whitmarsh, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team principal announced, "[We are] absolutely delighted to welcome Jenson to our team.... Lewis Hamilton, 2008 F1 world champion, affirmed, "I already know Jenson, and we get on very well together. We both really want our team to succeed....
