Economist Intelligence Unit and SAP Launch Interactive Web Site to Assess Global Business Perception
June 22, 2009 – The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) will launch an online Corporate Expectations Barometer (CEB) survey, sponsored by SAP, to assess global corporate expectations around economic recovery and observe changes over a six-month period. The barometer is an interactive Web site that will engage global executives and allow them to compare their confidence levels on the state of the economy with those of their peers, as well as provide intelligence on how to assess their business strategies accordingly.
The baseline results of the online survey are available in an EIU executive summary. The quantitative findings presented in the report come from an online survey of more than 1,000 respondents from around the world conducted by the EIU in May 2009. According to the survey, executives expect global business conditions to improve within 12 months; however, the level of optimism varies.
These results have been used to calculate an ongoing index of business perceptions and will be the basis of a peer benchmarking program available to respondents upon completion of the survey.
The Corporate Expectations Barometer baseline report of expectations is available free of charge at www.eiu.com/sponsor/barometer.
