The SAP NetWeaver™ Application Server

SAP NetWeaver is a web-based, open integration and application platform that serves as the foundation for enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) and allows the integration and alignment of people, information, and business processes across business and technology boundaries. The SAP NetWeaver platform to focus on key business goals: the need to combine different integration technologies, to develop composite applications leveraging existing system investments, or to build new business processes in a flexible way.

The SAP NetWeaver® Composition Environment (SAP NetWeaver CE) offering provides a lean, standards-based solution that enables you to experience the business value of enterprise service-oriented architecture. A visual, easy-to-use environment to build and run complete composite applications, SAP NetWeaver CE allows you to accelerate business process innovation, adapt quickly to changing market conditions, and seize new revenue streams.

At the core of SAP NetWeaver CE is the latest version of the SAP NetWeaver Application Server component. This component is fully compatible with Java Platform, Enterprise Edition (Java EE) 5, including complete support for all the major Java technologies including Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 (EJB 3.0) and the latest data persistence models.
